About the artist
Wanlop Hansunthai B. 1978, Chiang Mai
Wanlop Hansunthai graduated from Chiang Mai University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. His interest is based on the relationship between nature and humanity through everyday observations. His work, therefore, focuses on giving an explanation of each story through paintings, in which a variety of techniques are adapted in order to reflect the different perspectives on the world’s facts. His work “Banana & Me” was chosen to be one of the artworks in the collection of MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum Chiang Mai, leading to his latest solo exhibition in 2019 named “CELL NUTURE” (The Golden Triangle, Chicago, USA) and (The Golden Triangle Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai, Thailand) In addition, in 2017, he participated in the exhibition "IN REMEMBER OF THE GREAT KING " (Main exhibition room, 8th floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Center)

Jirarat Chaiyarach is interested in social issues and human behavior in Thailand and elsewhere. Her interest also includes exploring the art world through educational and literary works. She has also worked as a consultant to various artists for several exhibitions such as “THE Repeated Simulation” ( O.P.Place Bangkok Design Week 2019), TASTE TEST: The new way to eat Exhibition (TCDC Bangkok Design Week 2018) and for her own exhibition " DILEMMA " Solo Exhibition by Nuttapong Daovichitr (Goose Life space, Bangkok), International Artisit Team in a Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, Bangkok, Thailand. She is also responsible for Muse Pass 2015 Project of Museum Siam, The National Discovery Museum Institute – NDMI as a Project Coordinator to create a space critical dialogues that can be developed into questions regarding many different tales. Jirarat currently works as a docent who provides information about main exhibitions at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center in Bangkok, Thailand.
Everything in this world has its origin. Stories created from memories from the past also have consequential effects on the living condition of today’s society, whether it is the system of perception, material essence, or even the thinking processes of both humans and non-human things including the surroundings and various objects which are linked to the society.
This exhibition is therefore only a tool for recording memories from daily events or stories at a certain time which we might forget or overlook. Still, the way we bring those memories onto the canvas through the simplicity with hidden significance is like an invitation for the audience to the procedure of finding the answer of the whole story.
The straightforward expression perceived from the series of work might be just another way of telling stories with the aim to, more or less, motivate the audience to be aware and rethink the value of our own lives, as well as about the social context.

คณะวิจิตรศิลป์ มุ่งสนใจในด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างธรรมชาติของความเป็นมนุษย์
ผ่านการสังเกตสิ่งรอบตัวในชีวิตประจำวัน งานของเขาจึงเน้นอธิบายเรื่องราวผ่านผลงานจิตรกรรม
รวมไปถึงการนำเสนอผลงานออกมาในรูปแบบที่หลากหลาย เพื่อสะท้อนมุมมองความจริง/ข้อเท็จจริงบางส่วนผ่านงานศิลปะ
โดยผลงาน “Banana & Me” ได้รับเลือกเป็นผลงานสะสมของ MAIIAM Contemporary Art
Museum Chiang Mai จนนำไปสู่การจัดแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยวล่าสุดในปี 2562 ที่ชื่อว่า “CELL NUTURE” (The
Golden Triangle, Chicago, USA) และ (The Golden Triangle
Hang Dong District, Chiang Mai, Thailand) นอกจากนี้ ปี 2560
เขาร่วมแสดงผลงานในนิทรรศการ “พระราชาในดวงใจ”
(ห้องนิทรรศการหลัก ชั้น 8 หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร)

เพื่อสร้างพื้นที่เพื่อการสนทนาเชิงวิพากษ์ที่นำไปสู่การตั้งคำถามต่อเรื่องเล่าในหลายหลากแขนง
ปัจจุบันทำหน้าที่เป็นผู้บรรยายและให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับนิทรรศการหลัก ประจำหอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร
กับองค์กรและสถาบันการศึกษาต่างๆ รวมถึงผู้เข้าชมที่สนใจ
ทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างบนโลกใบนี้ล้วนมีที่มาที่ไป รวมถึงเรื่องราวจากความทรงจำในอดีต มีผลพวงส่งต่อมายังสภาพความเป็นอยู่ของสังคมในปัจจุบัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นระบบโครงสร้างเชิงรับรู้ สาระสำคัญ เชิงวัตถุ หรือแม้กระทั่งกระบวนการทางความคิดของมนุษย์กับสิ่งที่ไม่ใช่มนุษย์ รวมไปถึงสิ่งรอบตัวหรือ
วัตถุต่าง ๆ ที่เชื่อมโยงเข้ากับสังคม
นิทรรศการชุดนี้ จึงเป็นเพียงเครื่องมือที่ใช้บันทึกความทรงจำ จากเหตุการณ์หรือเรื่องราวในแต่ละวัน ณ ช่วงเวลาหนึ่งที่เราหลงลืมหรือมักอาจมองข้ามผ่านสิ่งนั้นไป หากแต่การหยิบยืมภาพจำเหล่านั้น มาขีดเขียดลงบนกระดาษ ผ่านความเรียบง่าย แต่แฝงนัยยะซ่อนเร้นบางอย่าง จึงเสมือนเป็นการเชิญชวนให้ผู้ชมเข้ามาค้นหาคำตอบของเรื่องราวทั้งหมด
การแสดงออกอย่างตรงไปตรงมา ผ่านผลงานชุดนี้ อาจเป็นเพียงการบอกเล่าเรื่องราว เพื่อให้ผู้ชมได้ตระหนักคิดและย้อนกลับมามองหาคุณค่า
ถึงการใช้ชีวิตของตัวเราเอง รวมไปถึงบริบททางสังคมไม่มากก็น้อย
